Duval & Stachenfeld Signs 50,000 Square Foot Office Lease at 555 Madison Avenue

August 1, 2011

Press Release

Duval & Stachenfeld has just signed a new 13 year office lease at 555 Madison Avenue in midtown Manhattan where it will be taking 50,000 square feet of space – moving from its current space at 101 Park Avenue.

Duval & Stachenfeld will not move into the new space until February 2013, but Managing Partner Bruce Stachenfeld explains why it was important to look for space now saying, “I can’t claim to have a crystal ball – however I like the idea of locking in our leasing costs now (20 months ahead of time) rather than taking my chances on the leasing market in a year.”

Bruce added that, “We really like the building – we really like our new location – and we believe the Coates family will be excellent landlords.”

The new space at 555 Madison Avenue is part of a block of 175,000 square feet currently leased to Sony.

The lease was handled internally for Duval & Stachenfeld by Real Estate Group partner Eric G. Menkes.  While familiar with all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, Mr. Menkes is an expert in the negotiation of commercial leases, representing both tenants and landlords.

Duval & Stachenfeld LLP is a 14-year old law firm based in Manhattan that focuses on complex real estate transactions.  With close to 35 attorneys, the Duval & Stachenfeld Real Estate Group has one of the largest real estate legal teams in New York City.
