Samuel Lee joined the Firm in 2009 as a partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Over the past ten years, Mr. Lee has represented financial institutions, banks, life insurance companies and other institutional investors in a variety of commercial real estate finance transactions, concentrating on the representation of these institutions in a wide variety of portfolio and secondary market transactions, including syndicated loans, securitized loans and other types of "capital markets" financings.  These transactions often involved mezzanine and other subordinate debt structures, participations, syndications and other co-lending arrangements.  He also has extensive experience in advising these institutions in the acquisition and disposition of their interests in these debt structures.

Recently, Mr. Lee has been actively engaged in representing clients in the workout and restructuring of distressed loans.

 

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Lee had been a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group of Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP.

 

Mr. Lee received his B.A., cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1994, and his J.D., with distinction, from Hofstra University School of Law in 1998, where he also served as an Articles Editor of the Hofstra Law Review.  He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
